It's been a long, overall lovely day but the reality of life with animals continues to reinforce itself as we live on the farm. One of the dogs killed a chicken which got into the dog run. I HATE when it happens and we try to be attentive to roaming chickens but this one got into the pen and couldn't get out and I didn't know until too late what had happened. It's a reality. Not sure how to get back into this site to finish this blog so I'll finish here. Don't know how I let this much time pass w/out actually finishing it but - oh WAIT, I got to other things first, first, second, third...and here it is September and I would like to finish what I started. Kind of like most things that we start, finishing is kind of the intention eh? Anyway - I was saying something about my little chickies and dogs and how I love them, but the reality is that death is part of life and animals will go after each other and as much as we want them to exhibit all the positive characteristics that make them cute and enjoyable, they also exhibit the other real characteristics that exist...that of primitive, impulsive, primal behavior which includes going after each other.
